Because Of  is an interactive story game inspired by the lyrics of the song Baraye by Shervin Hajipour. 

Baraye was composed in 2022 from a series of tweets posted against the regime (for the full story you can visit this website).

Currently, at the time of the publication of Because Of several protests and uprisings are happening in different countries for various reasons.

People are angry towards the governments that rule them, the governments that only care about their own interests at the expense of homelessness, starvation, drought, pollution, war, and much more.

Baraye is a song that expresses many of the reasons behind these uprisings. Even though the lyrics are a composition of tweets posted in response to a specific event, the things people have said are universal, and they hit home.

Everything is political, and so is this game. In these times where politics are getting worse and politicians are turning more evil every day, we need to speak up and take action.

Additional Note

This game was also inspired by Molleindustria creations, mainly their game Unmanned. They inspired me not to be afraid of creating critical or political content.  

I'm hoping to have time to improve Because Of in the future and release a Version 2. I aim to increase player involvement with clearer goals to achieve and a deeper connection between the work that has to be done and the inner conflict of the police officer while speaking with their mother.
